Who is exempted from PET?

Those who are certified vaccinated will be exempted from PET. Everyone else will be need to go for a swab test.

What is PET?

Pet is not your dog or cat or hamster hor. PET stands for Pre-Event Testing. Basically means that all your guests + yourself will need to get tested for Covid-19 before you can get married.

There are 2 ways to qualify for PET.

1) You are certified Vaccinated.
2) You do a swab test at least 24 hours before the wedding and you need to receive a negative result.

Why must 24 hrs minimum for PET?

Because we are all humans and we like to move around and we also like to socialise. Many things can happen within a day as well so in order to be safe, you need to get tested as close to the date as possible. Do your best not to meet too many people as well before the event.

Who pay for PET ah? Bride & groom? Or my guests?

This is completely up to you. But don’t forget, PET cost between $40-$50 PER PERSON. So if you’re expecting your guests to cover that cost, expect your ang pao to be compromised. If you’re covering that cost, expect to spend up to $5,000-$13,000 on top of your banquet.

My photographer need to do PET or not ah?

No need. All vendors are not required to do PET.

If everyone do PET and vaccinated already, can we all mingle now?

No la! Cannot lah. Still not allowed. So please ensure everyone still abides with the standard SMM (safe management measures).

Where can I arrange for PET for my guests?

Rapid test kits can be done at MOH approved test providers in this link here. Some hotels and venues can arrange for it to be done on-site but the cost will be rather hefty. Expect between $12,000-$15,000 for this arrangement.
